Live mode (Pit Pass)

Live mode lets clients see frames appear in their gallery WHILE you're shooting. Built for concerts, sports, and events where the artist's PR or social team wants to post during the show.

Plan required

Professional or Studio Plus.

How it works

Gallery Settings → Live mode toggle. While ON:

  • The public gallery polls /api/g/<slug>/photos.json every 5 seconds
  • Newly uploaded frames pulse in with a "LIVE" badge
  • The badge clears after 60 seconds. By then the photo's settled into the regular grid

The photographer side: drop a card of frames, hit upload, the queue drains in ~0.4s avg per photo. Clients see them within seconds of finalize.

When to turn it off

After the event. Live polling has a real-but-small server cost; toggling off post-show drops the gallery back to a static load. The Live badge animation also stops once the toggle's off, even on photos that JUST landed.

Vocabulary swap

Studios on Professional+ can rename "Live mode" to "Pit Pass", "Live Gallery", or any label they prefer in Settings → Vocabulary. The toggle keeps the same behavior. Just the client-facing label changes.
