Watermark options
Watermarks bake into the variants Encore generates from your originals. They're not overlays applied at view time. That means clients see and download already-watermarked photos, and the originals you uploaded stay clean in storage.
The four marks
- None. Clean. Default for most paid-tier galleries.
- Press. Subtle dark strip across the bottom, studio name + Roll ID in white sans. For media use.
- Personal. Small "© Studio Name" in the bottom-left corner. For clients who want to repost without a heavy bar.
- Portfolio. Full bar across the bottom with studio name in serif. For your own portfolio share-outs.
The free tier renders the Encore wordmark across every photo. Upgrading to Studio or higher unlocks the four options above.
When you change it
Picking a watermark from Gallery Settings kicks off a background regeneration. The progress badge in the panel header shows "5 / 12" as photos finish. Until a given photo's watermarked variants land, the gallery viewer falls back to the unwatermarked variant. No broken state during the rebuild.
If thumbnails look broken after a change
Hit Rebuild thumbnails in the Frames header. It force-regenerates every variant for the current watermark, overwriting any stale R2 objects.
