Plans & billing

Cancel or downgrade your plan

Cancel any time from the customer portal. Settings → Billing → Manage subscription →. The portal is Stripe-hosted; your card details, invoices, and cancellation flow live there.

What happens immediately

When the cancellation processes (usually a few seconds via webhook):

  • Your storage quota drops back to 5 GB. You can be over the new quota. We don't delete anything, but new uploads will be refused until you trim.
  • Custom domain stops resolving. The studio reverts to its <slug>.encore.photo subdomain. Existing gallery links on the subdomain keep working.
  • Theme, brand colors, custom fonts revert to platform defaults on the public side. Your settings stay saved. Re-upgrade and they reappear instantly.
  • The Encore watermark is queued to bake into every existing photo. It takes a few minutes per 100 photos.
  • Existing galleries stay published. The 1-active-gallery cap applies to NEW galleries only.

What stays intact

  • Every gallery, photo, and audio file
  • Roll IDs (permanent. They don't reset)
  • Audit logs
  • Stripe invoices

You can re-upgrade and pick up where you left off, including custom domain and theme choice.

Refunds

Stripe handles invoicing and refunds. If you cancel mid-cycle, the remainder of the current period stays paid through to the end. We don't pro-rate. The cancellation effective date is the end of the current billing period.

If something went wrong (you didn't intend to cancel, double-charged, etc.), email hello@encore.photo and we'll sort it manually.
